Hull Generation (A020)

This license configuration includes functionality to support high level geometrical objects. Currently there is the IntelliHull methodology to assist in developing hull surfaces quickly with desired form properties and shape.

This license configuration is designed to assist the user in shaping the hullform for their design. At present it consists of the IntelliHull capability, which provides rapid definition of commercial surface vessel hull shapes. Later developments in this license category will provide an advanced hullform generation capability.

The philosophy behind IntelliHull is similar to QuickHull, provided through the Solid Modeller license category. Both methods develop a NURBS surface describing one side of the vessel by blending through a series of spline curves. IntelliHull provides a library of starting vessel hullforms which can be used to develop a new hullform either by scaling, or by modifying a number of other length-based parameters, or hullform shape coefficients. In addition the user can manually modify the shape of the spline curves.

Finally there is the potential to integrate a bulbous bow into the hullform. The bulbous bow itself can be derived from a library of starting shapes, and modified using parameters, before being joined to the hull.
