GRC are exhibiting at ITEC 2005.
Vittorio Vagliani and Gareth Draper will be manning the GRC stand demonstrating
Submarine manoeuvring simulations within Paramarine and the training aspects
using GRC's onboard version, Seagoing Paramarine.
Seagoing Paramarine is used by the UK Royal Navy as an onboard Stability tool
on all Major Warships and Frigates. GRC have recently developed Seagoing Paramarine
for Submarines in conjunction with the UK Ministry of Defence's Sea Technology Group.

COMPIT, is a "Conference on Computer Applications and Information Technology
in the Maritime Industries" with participants from both industry and academia. Marcus Bole of GRC
will be presenting a paper on 'Integrating Parametric Hull Generation into Early Stage Design'.

QinetiQ, Safety of Cracked Ships

Jon Whatmore will be attending the QinetiQ presentation in light of the
recent implementation of Fracture assessment with in Paramarine which was integrated by Robert
Woolsey. The QinetiQ presentenation from the first year of a four year MOD Sea Technology Group
(STG) sponsored project on the Safety of Cracked Ships. Independent peer review of the work is
undertaken by W S Atkins on behalf of the MOD.
The meeting will begin with a brief overview of fracture mechanics principles, a review of world-wide
research activity, and a summary of key results from previous STG projects on the same subject area.
Further specialist presentations will then be made as described below. There will be ample time for
discussion and questions. A major purpose of the meeting is to obtain feedback from technical
specialists and from potential customers on how they would like to see the research developing
in the remainder of the project.

RINA Warship 2005 - Naval Submarines 8

Ian Carter (GRC) and Darren Haynes (Sea Technology Group, UK) will be
presenting a paper on the 'Development of an Onboard Submarine Stability Tool'.
Recent submarine incidents have shown the potential application of an onboard Submarine
Stability tool for emergency response. Recently the Royal Navy began to use Seagoing
Paramarine as an onboard stability tool on all major Warships and Frigates. This paper
describes the development of a Submarine version of
Seagoing Paramarine to address the different operator requirements between submarines
and surface ships.

| Marcus Bole of GRC will be presenting a paper on Early Stage
Integrated Parametric Ship Design at this years ICCAS 2005. This will be the 12th
International Conference on Computer Applications in Shipbuilding. The paper will
be available for download after the conference from our
